Service Agreement

Acceptance of Terms by agreeing to these terms of service during the signing up process on Time To Pet the client whose name is listed on their time to pet account acknowledges and accepts all the following terms and conditions. Without accepting these terms, the client will not have the right to utilize Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care’s Services.

Services

Services Offered

  • Errand Run: Personal assistant service for essential errands.
  • Drop-In Visits: Client can customize the duration of the visit ranging from 30-60 minutes.
  • Sleep Over, Overnight Cat Care Service: Minimum of 10 Hours in clients home.
  • Key Drop Pick-Up & Drop-Off Service: Charged per handoff.
  • Meet & Greet Consultation: Initial consultation complementary. Re-Introduction visits charged as Drop-In Visits.


Requirements Around Said Services

  • New Clients are required to schedule a complementary 30-Minute In-Home Meet & Greet Consultation prior to booking a service.
  • Clients must disclose pets with known history of biting, aggression towards strangers and/or triggers prior service. This allows us to thoughtfully plan our visits to ensure their comfort and well-being.
  • All communication regarding current and future bookings, change requests and cancellations remains on TTP messaging feature or Time To Pet client portal.
  • Clients are required to keep notes and instructions are kept up to date and accurate on the Time to Pet application.


How We Go About Offering These Services

  • At Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care, we understand and celebrate the unique personalities of each cat. We recognize that some cats may be shy or display nervous or even aggressive behavior when meeting new people, and we are committed to adapting our approach to meet their needs.
  • Additional Meet & Greet consultations charged at Drop-In Visit rates may be required. We understand that some cats require time to acclimate to new people and we are willing to work with you and your cat until everyone is comfortable. Our top priority is providing the best possible care for your pet.
  • Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care has the right to deny service if the sitter feels unsafe for any reason.


Overnight Care Requirements

  • Private Area for Sitter: Clients are responsible for providing an appropriate private area for the sitter to sleep, including clean bed linens, changing clothes, and shower.
  • Disclosure of locations of all security cameras and surveillance equipment.
  • Kitchen Access: Clients should provide access to kitchen appliances for food preparation and storage.


Our pledge to you

  • Sitters are responsible for bringing any food or beverages they will need during the stay.
  • Sitters will bring bathroom items for personal use including towels & bathing products.
  • Sitters will use the provided facilities responsibly and respectfully, cleaning as necessary
  • Disposing of any garbage outside the home.

Arrival Time Windows

We take immense pride in providing exceptional care tailored to your feline companions’ needs. While we strive to accommodate your preferences on once a day visits, please understand that we cannot guarantee specific visit times due to the nature of our service.

  • We schedule in 2-hour arrival time blocks starting at 8am through 9pm. However, we make every effort to fulfill your requests.
  • We prioritize our twice-daily clients, ensuring their preferred timings are met, and we give special attention to kitties requiring medication and those on a wet diet. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact us; we’ll be more than happy to assist. 

Please note that we do not offer visits every other day, as our utmost priority is maintaining the well-being of your beloved pets. Regular check-ins allow us to closely monitor their health and ensure their happiness throughout the booking. Thank you for trusting us with the care of your precious feline friends.

Scheduling Services

New Clients

Please schedule at least 2 weeks before your first service date to allow time for a 30-minute In-Home Meet & Greet Consultation.

Existing Clients

  • For Drop-In Visits, we recommend booking about 3 days in advance.
  • For Overnight Cat Care, it’s best to schedule 7 days in advance, as we limit the number of drop-in visits during these times to provide optimal care.


Holiday Scheduling

  • Drop-In Visits: We recommend a minimum of 10 days prior to the first date of the services requested. During busy periods like Christmas, New Year’s, Memorial Day, and Labor Day, spots fill up quickly. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so early booking is strongly encouraged.
  • Sleep Over/Overnight Care: We would love to accommodate your needs; however, we can only offer these visits on a limited basis during Christmas, New Years, Memorial Day and Labor Day. Don’t hesitate to inquire about rates and availability, we always appreciate the opportunity to help however we can.

Payments and Cancelations

Payment options

  • We accept payment in the form of Credit Card or Debit card. All payment must be received in full before the start of any visit


Payment Due Reminder

  • Payments for pet sitting services are invoiced at the time of reservation and must be submitted on Time To Pet before the service.
  • Your card is charged when your booking has been confirmed.
  • You will receive a copy of your invoice via email.


Automatic Payments

  • Youagree to saveandmaintain a validcredit ordebit cardin your Time toPet Account, and we will automatically charge your stored payment method.
  • All clients are required to read and sign the Payment Authorization Form in the Time To Pet application during the client onboarding process and prior to services rendered

Past Due Invoices

  • If your stored payment method becomes expired or removed, or payment fails for any reason, your reservation will be cancelled.
  • If services have already been rendered, or we have paid third-party vendors on your behalf, and the invoice for such rendered services or third-party expenses becomes past due, a $1 late fee will be assessed every day that a balance remains.
  • After 30 days, if the total balance has not been paid, we reserve the right to take legal action to recover the balance owed and/or send the account to a third-party collection agency.

Holidays

Due to the high demand for pet-sitting services during the holiday season, services booked that include any of the following dates will be subject to the Holiday Rate for the entire series of dates booked.

Current Holiday Rates as of January 2025 are +40% of the primary service booked per visit.

Commitment to Care

At Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care, LLC, we prioritize the happiness and well-being of your feline companions. We strive to never miss a visit with your pets.

In the event of any delays in updates, we will promptly provide you with necessary information.

Emergency Situations

  • In the rare instance that a Sitter needs to cancel a booking, either prior to or during the service period.
  • We will refund the fees paid by the Pet Owner for any Pet Care Services not rendered.
  • If an emergency outside of our control occurs, the client will have the option to use our emergency cat sitter, who will complete the booking on our behalf. • If the client agrees to proceed with this arrangement, and the substitute Sitter (who is vetted, insured, and bonded) has confirmed in writing to accept the booking. No refund will be issued.


Cancellation & Change Request to Scheduled Bookings

We are dedicated to delivering exceptional care and service to every pet we visit. To maintain the highest standards, we limit the number of bookings we accept each day, ensuring each visit is of the highest quality. As a result, we often decline other pet parents’ requests for the dates you’ve reserved. To uphold this standard, we are unable to provide refunds for cancellations made outside the specified cancellation window. This policy is in place because it is unlikely we’ll be able to rebook that time block on short notice. Thank you for understanding and helping us continue to provide the best possible care for your pets.

Please Note that Client Change Requests and Cancellation Requests are only accepted using the Client Portal in Time to Pet unless otherwise specified.

Automatic Cancellation Fees

  • Bookings cancelled less than 72 hours prior to the start of services are charged at 50% rate of booking for the first 72 hours of the scheduled services.
  • Dates occurring after 72 hours will be refunded to the payment method used.
  • Bookings cancelled less than 24 hours will be charged for the full visit.

Non-Holiday Drop-In Visits

  • Non-Holiday Drop-In visits cancelled for any reason with 72 hours of notice or more will be fully refunded to your original method of payment.
  • Non-Holiday Drop-In visits cancelled with less than 72 hours of notice will be refunded at 50% rate of service charge. For a series of visits a 50% refund will apply to the dates cancelled up to 72 hours from the time the cancelation was requested via Time To Pet. The remainder of the visits will be fully refunded.
  • No refunds will be issued with less than 24 hours of notice.


Non-Holiday Sleep Over/Overnight Care

  • Non-Holiday Overnight Bookings cancelled for any reason 7 or more days prior to the start of the booking will be fully refunded to your original method of payment.
  • Non-Holiday Overnight visits cancelled with less than 7 Days prior to the start of the booking will be refunded 50% rate of service charge. For a series of visits a 50% refund will apply to the dates cancelled up to 7 Days from the time the cancelation was requested via Time To Pet. The remainder of the visits will be fully refunded.
  • No refunds will be issued with less than 24 hours of notice.

Holiday Cancellation for Any Service

  • No refunds will be issued for services canceled less than 7 days of our company holiday dates.


Medical

  • We have the right to deny service if a pet is not current on all vaccinations required by Miami-Dade County which are Rabies & Distemper. The 3 in 1 vaccine for cats is called FVRCP vaccine, which protects against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (FVR), Feline Calicivirus © and Feline Panleukopenia (P) is recommended annually but not required.
  • We have the right to deny service if a pet has any perceived untreated signs of infection.

Limitations & Liability

Unless caused by the negligence or willful misconduct of Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care, the client agrees to release and hold harmless the company and its representatives from any and all liability related to:

  1. Any breach of security by a third party resulting in loss or damage to property and/or pets, including but not limited to burglary or criminal trespass.
  2. Any mishap, injury, or harm of any nature that may occur to the pet while unsupervised.
  3. Any damages or loss beyond the company’s control, including but not limited to those caused by severe weather, natural disasters, or other acts of nature.
  4. Transportation of the pet to and from veterinary clinics, kennels, or boarding facilities, and any associated expenses.
  5. Medical expenses and damages resulting from injuries to the pet sitter, other pets, individuals, or property caused by the client’s pet.


Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care is not liable for any damages reported 24 hours or more after the conclusion of a reservation. The maximum liability of the company for any claim shall not exceed the total fees paid for the service in question. Under no circumstances shall the company be liable for special, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages.

Veterinary Medical Care

In the event your pet experiences a medical emergency or health concern, and you cannot be reached in a timely manner, you authorize Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care to seek medical attention from a veterinary facility of our choosing. You further authorize us to make decisions regarding treatment recommendations as advised by the attending veterinarian(s). You authorize the release of your pet’s medical records from their regular veterinarian to facilitate care. Any costs incurred for the assessment and medical treatment of your pet will be your sole responsibility, and you accept full financial liability for such expenses. For further details, please refer to the “Third-Party Expenses” section of this agreement.

Important Client Notes

  • Clients must clearly indicate any “Do Not Resuscitate” (DNR) instructions in their pet’s profile.
  • Clients must specify monetary limits for medical care in the pet’s profile. If no limit is specified, the company will act in the pet’s best interest based on veterinary advice, and all costs will remain the client’s responsibility.

Emergency Guardians

In the event that you are unable or unwilling to resume custody, care, and control of your pet during or after a reservation, and/or Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care is unable or unwilling to complete or extend your reservation, you authorize us to transfer the care, custody, and control of your pet to any of the individuals designated as Emergency Guardians in your Time To Pet profile. By signing this agreement, you certify that the individuals listed as Emergency Guardians have been informed of their designation and have agreed to assume responsibility for your pet if necessary. If all designated Emergency Guardians are unable or unwilling to accept custody, care, and control of your pet when called upon, your pet may be transported to a kennel or boarding facility at your expense. Please refer to the “Inclement Weather” section for additional details on emergency procedures.

Pet Abandonment

If you fail to resume care, custody, and control of your pet on the agreed-upon date and time, and extended reservation charges remain unpaid for a period of ten (10) days without reasonable effort to compensate Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care by yourself or your authorized representative, your pet will be considered “Abandoned.” In such cases, Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care is authorized to take one or more of the following actions at its discretion:

  1. Transfer ownership of the pet through public or private sale.
  2. Place the pet with a new caretaker or give the pet away.
  3. Surrender the pet to a humane society, animal shelter, or another appropriate facility. The client acknowledges that any decision made regarding an abandoned pet will be in accordance with applicable laws and in the best interests of the pet’s welfare.

Property

Home Access, Privacy, and Security

By contracting Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care, you authorize us to enter your home as needed to perform the services outlined in each reservation. Prior to the start of each reservation, you agree to disclose if, when, and where other individuals are expected to be on your property. This includes, but is not limited to, landscapers, housecleaners, friends, or family members. Failure to disclose this information may result in the cancellation of services and/or involvement of law enforcement, as we may be unaware of who is authorized to be on your property or in your home.

Expectation of Privacy

You warrant that any security cameras on the property are installed in accordance with applicable laws and are not positioned in restrooms, sleeping areas, or any other locations where your pet sitter may reasonably expect privacy. For the safety of your pet sitter, you agree to secure your property to the best of your ability before leaving the premises.

Key Policy

In the event of a malfunction of the lock, key, or remote-controlled entry device, you authorize us to employ a locksmith on your behalf. Unless the malfunction is caused by our negligence or misconduct, you accept full financial responsibility for any associated locksmith costs. Please refer to the “Third-Party Expenses” section for additional details. And to the Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care, Key Handling Form for additional information.

Alarm Policy

For homes equipped with an alarm system, you must provide the alarm codes, password, and the alarm company’s name and contact information in our secure online reservation system. If this information is not provided or is incomplete, Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care will not be held responsible for any false alarms triggered during the reservation period. All alarm systems must be in good working condition, with functioning keypads and buttons free of defects such as sticking or unresponsiveness. You are responsible for ensuring the system is operational before the reservation begins.

Third-Party Expenses

Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care requires immediate reimbursement for any third-party expenses incurred on your behalf, such as veterinary medical care, pet supplies, or locksmith services. We will make every reasonable effort to contact you to confirm your preferred course of action in cases where third-party expenses are anticipated or have been incurred.

If you cannot be reached in a timely manner, we reserve the right to charge your stored payment method for the expenses, along with an additional 5% processing fee to cover the payment fees incurred by us. To avoid this fee, we recommend that you pay third-party vendors directly whenever possible.

Pet and Household Supplies

You are responsible for providing adequate pet care and household cleaning supplies for the duration of each reservation. Necessary supplies may include, but are not limited to:

  • Pet Care Supplies: Food, medication, medical supplies, sturdy harness or collar, leash, appropriately sized crate, litter, and litter bags.
  • Household Cleaning Supplies: Cleaning sprays, rags, paper towels, vacuum, broom, and mop.


If supplies run out during the reservation, we will attempt to contact you for guidance. If you are unreachable, we will use reasonable judgment to purchase the necessary items at your expense. Please refer to the “Third-Party Expenses” section for additional details regarding reimbursement.

Inclement Weather

You agree to designate at least one Emergency Guardian specifically for Inclement Weather emergencies in your Time To Pet profile. This Emergency Guardian should:

  1. Reside within walking distance of your home.
  2. Be available and present during the dates of your reservation.
  3. Have the ability to enter your home and care for your pet if called upon.


This Emergency Guardian will be contacted in the event that severe weather or a natural disaster renders roadways impassable or unsafe for Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care to reach your pet. You are responsible for ensuring that your designated Inclement Weather Guardian is informed of their role and prepared to assist as needed.

Privacty

Pet Photos

Pet Care Company retains ownership of pet pictures and recordings. These may be used for website, social media and/or marketing materials for promotional purposes.

Validity of Contract

This agreement shall remain in effect for all future services provided by Miami Cat Sitting & Home Care unless explicitly revised or terminated. The terms of this contract are subject to modification at any time, with notice provided to the client. This contract will be interpreted and governed in accordance with the laws of the state of Florida.
